...HEAVY RAINFALL THROUGH TODAY WILL LEAD TO AN INCREASED THREAT OF LANDSLIDES IN WESTERN WASHINGTON... Rainfall of 2 to 8 inches over the past 24 hours has increased soil moisture to moderate levels across western Washington. Additional rainfall of around 1 to 2 inches is expected into Wednesday. This amount of rain will put extra pressure on soil instability, leading to an increased threat of landslides. A few landslides have already been reported in various locations in western Washington. A few small landslides have been reported in the Seattle area. More landslides remain possible through Wednesday. In west central Washington, King, Lewis, Pierce and Thurston. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Heavy rainfall has ended but flood waters continue moving down through the drainages.
